"The Impossible Body" @ TEX: Tufts Idea Exchange

The video above is raw footage of my talk from TEX: Tufts Idea Exchange (a TED inspired event now affiliated as a TEDx program), which I gave on November 15, 2011. I had the pleasure of participating as an alumni speaker, joining faculty and current students in an evening of presentations of stimulating ideas across a wide range of subject areas.
My talk, which was based on some of the concepts that came out of my dissertation, was called "The Impossible Body." In it I address how we portray and perceive the human body in motion as part of our entertainments, and what the implications of those perceptions are when we deal with real-life events, especially in relation to violence.
I would also add that one of the clips I show during this talk is of a piece of my own fight choreography from a Tufts University Department of Drama and Dance production of Sondheim's Company.
